About
About Parsley Lane:
To get to know a road – or a lane-, it would probably be practical to look at three aspects:
• Where does it start?
• Where is it headed?
• What will you see on the way ‘from where to there’?
To answer the first question I would say: It starts at the beginning. And I mean that. Because food is something truly elemental in our lives as humans and as social beings. Also I mean to emphasize by that plain statement that we all are cooks when it comes to preparing something to eat (or drink) for ourselves and for the ones we care about. That also goes for true cooks because true cooks care about the people who eat their food. But we are not all born superb chefs (even most brilliant chefs are not). We learn. Some from our mistakes. And a even more from the love for good food.
Which kind of answers the second question: I want to take you on a journey to good food. Whatever that may mean for you. Obviously good food is a quite personal thing. As is nutrition. Because what serves one well might cause the other one a funny feeling in the stomach. We are all unique and I am proud of our variety as human beings.
So what you still might be wondering – and probably attended this page for in the first place is: What will you see on the way?
Quite a few things actually and from a broad variety of aspects on food, because I am a very curious person. And generally passionate about learning and understanding. A family trade.
But to be more concrete I can tell you there will be three main categories:
- ‘Learning from Scraps’: A practical look at reserves of ‘edib-cational’ resources
- ‘The Big Pot’: This is about widening the diameters of food for thought and the adventures which come with it.
- People & Places: No good food without interesting people and comfortable places.
A little further down the lane I will also add others like the category ‘Projects’ which will be about journeys I am taking with friends and other friendly people interested in mindful eating and everything connected to it. Also here you may find examples and resources derived from my acquired ‘Wisdom of Keep Trying’
Recently, I added a new series to this site that will give you some first-hand insider information about my voyage: Parsley-Lane Blog 101 (here’s the first entry in the travelogue …)
So make yourself comfortable and enjoy. And don’t be shy to ask for more.
Mag,
