Events Coming up this Summer

Like every year, there are an a amazing number of summer food events all over the place. I’ll give you some pointers, just to get you into the mood.

  1. On July 25th and 26th, there will be at Jules B-Part at the Gleisdreieck, the TRUE ITALIAN PIZZA STREET FESTIVAL. That sounds very soul-foody to me. So, if you are in Berlin, make sure to visit.
  2. Also in Berlin, but at the end of summer, on September 19, 2026, will be another SchöneVibes EcoMarkt in Schöneweide – a friendly and creative market in cooperation with Slow Food Berlin. I already wrote about the format last year in the Local Foods category (“Local Foods: EcoMarkt Schöneweide”).
  3. Then, let’s go up further north to Hamburg, also a beautiful city with lots to see and very cool projects. Like, there will be the “Veganes Straßenfest” (“Vegan Street Festival”) from August 8 to 9, 2026. Which is a novelty, because all the current Veganes Straßenfest’ in the years before just lasted one day. But since last year it was such a great success (over 20.000 visitors, wow!), it was expanded to two days. Should be great. See for yourself on the Spielbudenplatz in the district St. Pauli.
  4. And even further up we go, to charming Copenhagen, where from August 21 to August 30, 2026, there will be the “Copenhagen Cooking 2026”. As part of the festival, there will be a series of events with Mocktails, Blind Ice Tasting, Garden Dinners — like in the Designmuseum Danmark, for example, Greenland Specials, and many more. Also, there will be a food crossover between north and south with “Istria Meets Vesterbro: A Tribute to Fire, Apples, and Community” as a “Cooking in the City” happening.
  5. Then again, maybe you like your summers quiet. How about going on a nature exploration tour through your neighborhood and region? In Berlin, there are some organized by the “Campus Stadt Natur” (just look it up under campus-stadt-natur.de/en).

About the “Featured” posts on the Parsley-Lane Blog

  • With the end of May, we have closed the former feature called Modular. You will probably have noticed that modularity is a central feature not only on this blog, but also in all concerning “Mindful Eating and Good Food”. So, I chose quite a few of the posts on the Parsley-Lane Blog for this feature. I gave you a short overview over some interesting choices I made in the recent post, “In Between”.
  • The new feature is dedicated to The Essence of Time. I already introduced some basic thoughts behind it (see “The Essence of Time”). The feature will run until September 2026.

We are taking a short break

  • Yes, it’s time again for an edition break, since the second quarter of 2026 has passed, and we are plunging into a hopefully great summer. And, also a routine by now, at the beginning of next quarter, we are making some technical and design improvements to the site. So, there might be a short break at the beginning of July.
  • The next post will be on Friday, July 17th, 2026.

What’s more…

  • From July 2026, there will be only one recipe per month. But, don’t be sad. More dedicated recipe creators from my circle of friends and family are just now joining in to fill the fresh and spicy lines. You have probably noticed that already during the Spring Edition and in the first recipe post of June (“Ostertafelsalad” by Heide, and “Summer Pasta”, by Sven, for background author’s info).
  • The Ingredient Specials will come on basically only every other month, starting from Summer 2026. This is due to other projects I am involved in and also because I want to have more time to write about interesting topics and present more amazing People & Places to you. I’m sure, you will be fully satiated with the results. Plus, there are about a hundred recipes already available on the Parsley-Lane Blog. So, there is plenty to choose from.
  • Have a great summer! Have fun, have good food, be kind!
