Just a Moment

A new year has started. Do we reheat the leftovers, or is it time to change the menu?

This is 2026, and I could just jump into it. You know: ‘We are starting the fourth year on the Parsley-Lane Blog, a lot of things have happened, more people have joined me, and other projects have evolved from my journey towards mindful eating and good food …’.

It’s all true, but let’s take it down a notch for a change. Seize that moment. Get a tea, find a cozy place by the window, and set up fine tune in the background. Time will adapt.

Are you there? Good. Because I was going to tell you a few things about the next twelve months ahead on the Parsley-Lane Blog.

So, of course, the new year will bring you some more of what you already have gotten used to: Recipes, Ingredient Specials, Table Talks, Local Foods insights, Places with a View. Seasonal topics and more interesting background info on good food will round out the picture.

And we are surely keeping the tradition with the „Sunday Brunch“ at the change of winter to spring, meaning shortly before Easter, and the „Festive Menu“ just before the turn of the year. You are right: There are already several arrangements to choose from. Like, if you are ever running short of brunch set-ups or festive three course meals, just go back: Festive Menu 23, Sunday Brunch 24, Festive Menu 24, Sunday Brunch 25, Festive Menu 25.

But traditions are actually new ideas, that turned out to be good. This is true for the featured posts. The first general feature topic was “Reduce Waste”. I quite liked that one. It was very productive. The current one is “Food Traditions and Food Culture” – an obvious choice for the season – and it will run until the end of January 2026. Then we are having a favorite topic of mine as a feature: “Modular”. You will get a short intro into that at the beginning of next month. After four months – the regular timeline for the features – we are starting another one at the beginning of June. I will keep you updated about that at the end of March in the “Sidewalk Scenes Spring 26”, which marks a new frequency for the special type of post with the overlook.

That’s about it for the basics, just to keep you informed generally. As you know, I am very much a person who likes to work things in the doing. But I’m sure there is still some time, so let‘s lay back and relax a little more, before we get on that long and winding Parsley-Lane to mindful eating and good food, shall we?

I am so glad you could join me. Let‘s have a wonderful journey!

Side Notes:

  • The small still life above was drawn by me on the back of a chocolate wrapper during a trip to the Baltic Sea. I was passing the time at a station, which is why the picture is called “Waiting.” Sometimes it’s good to turn things around and create your own pictures. Look for beauty and let the colors shine.
